Xfig is an interactive drawing tool which runs under X Window System Version 11 Release 4 (X11R4) or
later, on most UNIX-compatible platforms. It is freeware, and available via anonymous ftp.

First Time Users of xfig
- xfig is a drawing package that's ideal for producing diagrams that can be imported into LATEX and many other word processing
packages. On CUED's Teaching System you should be able to find it as an item on your window manager menus. It's also an icon in the
file manager. Or you can start it by typing its name.

xfig file format
- The following is the format of fig output (fig 2.1).
(1) The very first line is a comment line containing the name and version:
#FIG 2.1
The character # at the first column of a line indicates that the line
is a comment line which will be ignored.
